I had to include this shot for today’s Skywatch Friday. The clouds were just beautiful towards the East last night. Later on it began to rain and we are now blanketed in gray so I am glad I was able to get a picture of these clouds when I did. I have never been very good at identifying all the different clouds. My oldest says they look like cumulus clouds but I say they are not fluffy enough. I think they are stratus. Anyone care to take a guess at what these ones are?
Don’t forget to visit other blogs taking part in today’s Skywatch Friday. It is always a treat to view.
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!

How unusual and beautiful!!
They are gorgeous! I would say stratus before cumulus, but I’m wondering if they’re some hybrid cloud! Beautiful no matter what they are.
Interesting cloud formations, and the sky is a perfect shade of blue!
The cloud formations are beautiful with their pattern they created. Lovely shades of blue with the clouds. Thanks for sharing.
I was thinking stratus as well. Have you seen mammatus? Whew, THOSE are something!
I love taking pictures of the clouds. So incredibly beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your sky.

I think the are stratus clouds as well …as they are stretched out and in layers..
They really are beautiful.
Great capture
Can’t identify a cloud to save my life, but that picture is beautiful
Clouds are fun to watch and they make our brains work (what do I see there, what does their shape remind me and how do we call such clouds)!
I love cloud watching! Fun!
Whatever they are they’re lovely.
Great shot.
