The green beans are a variety called Cascade Giant that I grew two years ago and saved the seed from. So far they are doing great and it looks like we are going to get a lot out of them if the weather cooperates. The color of them makes me think of a snake. Unfortunately, they loose that coloring during cooking but that’s okay because they are so tasty. I like to eat them raw even.
The cherry tomatoes are from the Tumbling Tom that I posted about earlier. It is still putting out a ton of tomatoes.
I have left the Veggie Man sitting out on our table so I can see what my boys’ reaction will be to it when they get home from playing outside with their friends.

LOL…Love the Veggie Man.
Love your veggie man — and what a great way to get the kids to eat their veggies! I’m betting he’s popular.
Your veggie man is cute. What did your boys think? Those greenbeans do have a snakelike appearance. My cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen too. Since I got a late start, I’m happy.
hahaha. I love veggie man.
Glad to see everyone is getting a kick out of Veggie Man. As for my kids, they thought he was great. My 9 year old immediately wanted to eat an eye while my 14 year old didn’t want to mess him up. It was too funny to watch them because each time one of them ate something the other one would rearrange the rest of the green beans so there would still be a Veggie Man. It was a big hit and my oldest told me I was pretty creative which made me smile. -Cindy
I just love the Veggie Man. It looks cute on your blog and goes splendidly with your post. I hope the kids liked him too.~~Dee
Love the veggie man!
Those green beans look so yummy! I’m sure your boys will think it’s cute … I loved when my mom did stuff like that!
Veggie Man is getting lots of love. Thanks everyone!
What a wonderful harvest. I want to plant some green beans in my new veggie garden next year. Everything I’m hearing about just sounds so good. How is a gardener supposed to decide what to grow anyway? Glad to hear the kids enjoyed veggie man.
I can’t agree with you more! All the gardening blogs I read anymore has my list for next year *growing* bigger and bigger! ( pun intended ) These particular green beans are pole beans and I would recommend them to you if you asked me. They are really tasty plus I just love their coloring! -Cindy
