I have been reading so much nonfiction lately that I decided it was time for me to get lost in some fiction once again. Couple that with all the wonderful suggestions I keep getting from everyone else’s Yarn Along posts and I felt it was time to break from the current reading trend I am finding myself on. Â So, the other night I picked up the book Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. I have been enjoying it and am glad to be reading it. It is a good summer read. I especially like the role plants- in particular herbs- play in the story and the magical qualities they possess. Then again, I am keen on herbs so I might be a little biased! It has been nice to sink into a fiction story and take a break from the more serious reading I have been doing lately.
I have not made a whole lot of progress on my knitting this week. Summer weather finally being here coupled with the recent holiday found me with not too much time for crafting. I did get a little bit more practice done on my spinning and I am completely hooked and addicted to it now. My only frustration now is in finding the time to practice more!
I have made a bit of progress on Ariella’s summer dress as the photo shows. It is no longer a surprise as the other day she guessed what it was when she saw me knitting!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to July. How are all of projects coming?
