One Nasty Bug
Nov 28th, 2008 by Cynthia
A week ago today my oldest son turned up very sick out of nowhere. Lo and behold 24 hours later my younger son, daughter, and I end up with it. The very next morning my husband turns up sick as a dog. It has taken us all of this week to return things to some what normal around here. Thankfully, we are all beginning to feel better now but oh man was it a doozy of a bug!
So, now everyone knows why I have suddenly turned up missing in the world of blogging. Today is the first time I have come near my computer for about a week now. I hope to be back up to par in a few more days. (In fact I have to be seeing that we are now in full swing of the holiday season- gulp!) Until then I hope to get some what caught up on reading everyone else’s blogs.
Oh no! That kind of thing has been going around in our area too. So far so good for our household (knock on wood), but I’ve been working quite a bit lately. I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better though.
Hi Cinj,
I’ll knock on wood with you so your family stays extra healthy in the coming weeks. Thanks for the kind words. -Cynthia
I feel so badly for you. Mom has to keep going even when you are on your death bed. I am so worried about this winter season of sickness. The cold virus that is out there is very bad. It’s takes a good month to get over it. Hugs to you all and wishing you a healthy winter.
Thank you Anna for your sweet comment. Hopefully this is it for my family this year. It sure was a bad one. We haven’t had something like this run through our house in years. -Cynthia
Cynthia, my big family got it too. Glad you are feeling better. That stuff was awful
Hi Deb,
Hope you and your family are doing better as well. Hopefully everyone will stay well now. -Cynthia
I’m so sorry. I hate stomach viruses. They are the WORST! I’m glad you’re back and hope everyone begins feeling almost normal soon.~~Dee
Thank you Dee. It seems it hit me and my daughter the worst out of the bunch but each day we are feeling better and better. Thank you again for the kind words. -Cynthia
If I had to stay away from a computer that long, I’m sure I would go into withdrawal. Alas, that is the life of a family with children still at home. The “bug” drifts from one to the next, not excluding anyone. I remember those days, when I didn’t go out and about in the world much. But of course the girls did. And the viruses followed them home like an obedient pet.
Brenda
Hi Brenda,
I would have had computer withdrawls if I wasn’t too sick to notice! And you are so right, the viruses do follow them home like obedient pets! I kept wondering where the heck did my son pick this one up from?? -Cynthia
I hope you & your family are feeling better now! The stomach flu is horrible. My entire family ended up with it last Christmas. Talk about a season killer!
Hi Racquel,
Being sick at Christmas is certainly a season killer! This one killed Thanksgiving for us but that’s okay since I don’t care that much for turkey. Now Christmas on the other hand…. that would be upsetting. -Cynthia
Oh man, that’s such a bummer! And just in time for Thanksgiving too… hope you are better soon. It’s terrible when the whole family gets the crud!
Thank you Karen. As of today (November 30) we are all doing much better….well that is except for my daughter being such an insomniac! Being sick has made her not want to sleep. -Cynthia
Ughhh I hate how those things just travel through the whole family, bleck! I’m so glad you are all starting to feel better. Maybe today’s sunshine will help it all feel better!!!
Sending you ‘get well’ vibes!
Kim
Thank you for the get well vibes Kim! The sunshine today certainly did help lift our moods- it always does! -Cynthia
My great nephew just got a bug like that. Poor little guy. I’m glad to hear that your family has recovered! It’s no fun to be ill.
Hi Rita,
I hope this isn’t a bad year for stuff like this seeing that a lot of people have mentioned being rather sick already. Fingers crossed this is it for us this year!! -Cynthia
