A Brief But Beautiful Visitor

We actually have some sun today! I am so happy! And it is even almost 70 degrees outside. Hopefully things can dry out a little now. I was very sad to go out to the garden this morning and see that some seedlings had rotted from all the rain we have had this last week. I knew I was taking a chance when I planted them out there but I felt I had to as it is getting so late in the season now to be starting some things.

I was on the phone yesterday afternoon and turned to look out my sliding glass door and look what I saw just a few feet away on our deck.

I was so excited. We have seen Stellar Jays in the backyard before but never has he come this close to the house. He is such a grand and beautiful bird. I quickly grabbed my camera and started to take some pictures. They are not the greatest pictures in the world because of them being taken from behind the glass door. Plus I was on the phone! But you can still make out what a gorgeous bird he is.
