I have not taken part in Skywatch Friday in a couple of weeks now and have missed doing so. I just love photos of the sky. While out watering my garden yesterday morning I was kneeling down to reach some of my containers that needed a drink and happened to look up to see this pretty sight. I never get tired of peering through the lacey bronze fennel that is self-sowing with abandon around the garden lately. It is such a pretty culinary herb with medicinal benefits. I am not a huge fan of its anise flavor but it sure adds that certain oomph to tomato sauce!
Please be sure to visit all the other blogs participating in today’s Skywatch Friday. Have a great weekend!

Oh, I love this! I love to grow fennel, but for some reason mine died last year. I couldn’t find the copper kind this year, so I’m waiting until I can find some. Makes a beautiful backdrop of the sky.
I LOVE this blue

Cynthia~~ Beautiful photo. The blue sky is so refreshing and with the hillside outline…breathtaking! I’ve got three towering clumps of bronze fennel and it is indeed a wonderful plant.
I am not a huge fan of Fennel but it sure adds something to your blue sky shot.
A friend and I were at a restaurant and had soup with waaay too much fennel and we started coughing and now whenever one of us has a wheezy cough we call it ‘that dreaded fennel cough’. ha!
The fennel is so beautiful against that fantastic blue sky, great photo.

Very beautiful. I love the simplicity of it.

Very beautiful!
Happy weekend!
Wow, what a pretty view!
Lovely photo!!
Beautiful photo!! Your fennel is so tall! I love the way umbels look.
You’re right, that is very pretty. Funny how some of the nicer pics show up when we’re doing something at a bit different angle.
Cynthia, what a beautiful plant against that gorgeous blue sky. Our skies haven’t looked so brilliant in a while that I’ve noticed. Cloudy, gray, fallish skies around here lately. Hope it warms up soon!
