I have been worried about all the garlic I planted since it was first placed in the ground by me and my son. As soon as we had got it into the ground- literally within days- our rainy season began. I was afraid they might rot in the ground before they even had a chance to send down some roots. Then when we were hit with foot upon foot of snow last month I thought they were goners for sure.
Imagine my delight then when I discovered what you see in the below pictures.
Did you also happen to notice the lovely rocky soil I garden in?
I am so happy! I can now continue spending the rest of the winter and spring dreaming about roasted garlic spread over homemade toasted bread drizzled with olive oil.

Hey, maybe the snow will give it an extra wonderful flavor. Glad you got some sun today – we had a few minutes, but by the time I got outside, it was gone already.

Yay! I want to plant some garlic too, does it have to be planted before winter so we can grow it? My ground is still completely covered with snow so I’m sure it will be quite a while before I see any green sprouts.
Oh boy…you’ve whetted my appetite! I hope my garlic survived the winter, as I forgot to mulch it. Maybe the neighbor’s leaves decided to give it a warm winter blanket.
Nothing inspires hope as much as little green shoots. And I’d trade your rocky soil for my heavy clay anyday!

My softneck garlic came up so fast after it was planted, but my hardneck hasn’t see the light of day yet. It is pretty hardy though so it should make it. I’m glad your garlic has survived.
